CHAMPAIGN — A recent traffic-safety campaign by local law enforcement resulted in 46 citations for speeding, as well as two written warnings, police said.
The Champaign Police Department conducted the campaign during the month of July, in partnership with the Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois State Police and over 200 local law-enforcement agencies.
During the effort, Champaign officers were committed to 44 hours of "dedicated traffic enforcement," particularly along arterial routes and sections of these roads that affect local neighborhoods, officials said.
